Rock art is the earliest form of human-kind creativity. In archaeology, the term, rock art is considered human-made markings placed on natural stone. Rock Art can be found in many regions all over the world.

Today, rock painting is a way of being creative by expressing yourself with art. The simple act of applying paint to rock to create art is something as old as time. Painting on canvas can be a little intimidating.

In this class, you will learn the basics of rock painting; What is the best type of rock for painting, how to properly prepare it, techniques for painting, and how to set your rock once complete.

The class will be taught by Rachel Fury, one of Zephyrhills resident artists. You have probably seen some of Rachel's art in and around town as part of the rock exchange program.

Best of all?! You will leave with your very own painted rock.

The cost for the event is $10 per person. You are also welcome to stay afterward to continue painting or play games from our library at no extra charge.
